Ajith policy followed by other Kollywood actors

Ajith well know Kollywood actor once publicly announced to dont't use the nick name Ultimate Star in front of his name. He was the first man in Tamil cinema who made this suggestion. The same thing was now suggested by actor Vishal. Tamil actor Vishal announced to the media that he will not use his nick name "Puratchi Thalapathi" in his upcoming movie. Generally in Kollywood if a new actor got success in his first two movie then they will keep a nick name by themselves. Ajith is the first man who opposed such things and he never wish to have a nick name. After Ajith actor Barath negelected his nick name "Chinna Thalapathi" a few years back and now this time Vishal.

Do you think this "Adai Mozhi" much important???

Top Honours for Kollywood's Best

Best Film — Ko

Among six movies, each dealing with a different, but touchy subject, it was the unpredictable climax that helped Ko emerge a winner. Produced by Elred Kumar and Jayaraman of R S Infotainment and distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant, the film was directed by K V Anand. With Jiiva, Ajmal, Karthika and Piaa's extraordinary performances, the film has swept a whopping four awards in the first edition of Chennai Times Film Awards 2011. "This award means a lot to us because young audience have selected our film through voting process. Usually, a production house gets to present either a commercial film or a flick with a message. But Ko is a combination of both; it's an important film for us," said Kumar.

Best Director — Vetri Maaran (Aadukalam)

Vetri Maaran's Aadukalam brought Dhanush into the limelight and showcased his skills as a director to reckon with. He was excited to bag an award in the Best Director category at theChennai Times Film Awards 2011, more so because it has been awarded to him by the audience for whom he makes his films. "For me, this award is equally important as the ones presented by the juries, because this reflects on how much they love a film or an artist," said Vetri Maaran.

Best Music Director — Harris Jayaraj (Ko)

Making a hit out of all the soundtracks in a single album is a rare feat. And Harris Jayaraj seems to have accomplished this one, for the readers chose him as the Best Music Director for Ko, which had some of the biggest musical hits including Ennamo Aedho…, Aga Naga… and Amali Thumali … "I thank all those who thought I'd delivered a good job in the album of Ko. My biggest strength are my singers, and it's because of them and the entire team that I was able to pull off some good music," he said.

Best Lyrics — Vairamuthu (Sara Sara… from Vaagai Sooda Vaa)

The number Sara Sara… is poetic in the truest sense. And Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu has done poetic justice to it — with brilliant word play, sound play and perfect use of alliteration, the song has won the ace lyricist the award for Best Lyrics in the first edition of Chennai Times Film Awards 2011. "For more than myself, I'm happy that this recognition has proved the fact that even in this busy mechanised world, people still crave for and enjoy rural and folk songs," he said.

Best Singer Male — Aalap Raju (enamo aedho… from Ko)

Ennamo Aedho… has been one of the tracks that has been on every youngster's lips and minds for a while now. And Aalap Raju, who rendered this peppy number, has been voted the Best Singer Male by the audience. A bass player, Aalap says it was Harris who identified the singer in him. He said, "I'm ecstatic because this song has made a huge difference in my career, and also in the perspective of others."

Best Singer Female — Chinmayi (Sara Sara… from Vaagai Sooda Vaa)

"I fell in love with Sara Sara… even as I was singing it. This number is quite special for me, more so for Ghibran, as this album marks his debut. Vairamuthu sir's lyrics and the amazing composition has made this number memorable for me as well as the audience," said Chinmayi, who won this award amongst tough competition from the likes of Mahathi, Neha Bhasin, Saindhavi and Swetha Mohan.

Promising Newcomer Male — Ashwin Kakumanu (Mankatha)

Playing a no-good cop in a film that has stars like Ajith and Arjun in the lead, and getting noticed for the same is a mean task. Ashwin Kakumanu has been recognized by the audience for the same. Movie-goers all liked his performance as the cop and many appreciated the fact that his role was given importance in a Thala film. "The entire credit goes to director Venkat Prabhu, producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri, Ajith sir, Arjun sir, and the rest of my gang," he said all smiles.

Best Youth Film — Mankatha

The film, about a bunch of youngsters who plan the biggest heist, had an instant connect with the youth. Be it Ajith's charisma or the camaraderie shared by the bunch of boys in the film, everything about Mankatha was appealing to the Kollywood audience. The youngsters appreciated the fact that a Kollywood superstar like Ajith didn't shy away from playing his age, and essaying a negative character! Directed by Venkat Prabhu, whose previous films, Chennai 28 and Goa, too were complete 'boys films', this film is produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine Movies.

Promising Newcomer Female — Hansika (MapPillai)

The year 2011 has been very lucky for Hansika. With three releases, each with top stars in Kollywood — Dhanush, Jayam Ravi and Vijay — the bubbly actress couldn't have asked for more. She said happily, "I'm happy to have won the Promising Newcomer Female Award. Last year has been full of surprises, and this recognition is a pleasant one."

Best Actor in a Negative Role Male — Ajmal (Ko)

From being a social revolutionist to turning out to be a selfish politician, Ajmal's character in the film Ko, Vasanthan Perumal, is full of surprises, not to forget the grey shades. And the audiences have recognised him not only for his performance, but also for his courage to play a negative role while playing the hero in several other films. "It's not easy to essay the role of the CM of Tamil Nadu. It's only because of the faith that K V Anand sir had in me that I was able to pull it off," he said.

Best Actor in a Negative Role Female — Lakshmi Rai (Mankatha)

Her totally naive look and villainous mind is the deadly combination, which helped Lakshmi Rai win the Best Actress In A Negative Role at the first edition of Chennai Times Film Awards 2011. her role in Mankatha was much talked-about. An elated Lakshmi Rai gushed, "This is the first time ever that I'm getting a best actor award in a negative role. Without the support of my loyal fans, I don't think this would have happened!"

Best Screenplay — Saravanan (Engaeyum Eppothum)

It's a simple story, really. What are the different emotions that victims of an accident go through? But what made a huge difference is the treatment. Director Saravanan, who also penned the screenplay for Engaeyum Eppothum, has given the story a humane touch! Be it the story of the two college students who steal glances or the tale of a father who returns home from abroad to meet his daughter, every part of the script struck a chord with the audience. "I was confident the film would get an award for the screenplay, and I'm glad the Chennai Times Awards recognised our effort," he said.

Best Actor in a Comic Role — Santhanam (Vaanam)

'Indha bikea vithudalama? Namma rendu perum sethudalam?' Trust Santhanam to come up with funny one-liners! His combination with Simbu spells success and humour, right from Manmadhan days. Despite dealing with sensitive issues, Vaanam had been welcomes by one and all, thanks to the relief provided by Santhanam's comic punchlines. "Being recognised the Best Actor In A Comic Role by the audience is like washing worn clothes with starch! This has motivated me to come out with more unusual comedies!" he said in his trademark comic style.

Billa 2 Is A Very Serious Film – Chakri Toleti

Billa 2′s director Chakri Toleti said that Billa 2 is a very serious film and hence there was no room for comedy.
The director was asked why the film has no comedian in the star cast to which he replied that comedy would not suit Billa 2′s script and hence he decided to dispense with it.

So for now we have to be satisfied with the news that Billa 2 will be a serious film. The film is yet to be censored and the filmmakers are expected to announce the release date soon.

Vijay TV award for Ajith as best villain!

There is a comment by an Ajith fan on Facebook- "He never attends any function, but awards reach him. That`s Ajith."

Ajith as a policy never attends award nights, and keeps himself away from the limelight.

How true? Vijay TV bosses have personally met Ajith and handed him awards in the category of the Best villain and Favourite Hero! Unlike other stars, awards come seeking him at home.
Vijay TV`s General Manager K Sriram along with the programming Head Pradeep Milroy Peter and Mahendran handed over the awards to Ajith.
